Syllabus
Examination for Direct Recruitment to the Cadre of District Judge

Paper 1st: Law Paper-I (Duration- 3 hours; Max Marks- 100; Pass Marks-45)

Constitution of India, Civil Procedure Code, Law of Contract and Partnership, Law of Torts and Easements, Law of Motor Accident Claims, Law of Arbitration and Conciliation, Rent Control Law and Revenue Laws in Rajasthan, Law of Specific Relief, Hindu Law, Muslim Law, Law on transfer of Property, Law of Limitation, Law relating to Lok Adalats and Permanent Lok Adalats, Law related to Domestic Violence, General Rules (Civil), Rajasthan Court Fee & Suits Valuation Act, Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, Rajasthan Munisipilities Act, Law relating to Environment in India, Law relating to Intellectual Property Rights, Judgment Writing and Landmark Judgments of Supreme Court of India.

Paper 2nd: Law Paper-II (Duration- 3 hours; Max Marks- 100; Pass Marks-45)

Criminal Procedure Code, Law of Evidence, Indian Penal Code, Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, Criminal Law related to protection of SC/STs, Law on Juvenile Delinquency, Law of Probation, Law relating to Dishonour of Cheques, Law relating to Electricity Theft, Law related to Cyber Crimes, General Rules (Criminal), Law relating to Prevention of Corruption, Judgement Writing and Landmark Judgments of Supreme Court of India.

Paper 3rd: Language (Duration- 2 hours; Max Marks- 50; Pass Marks- 18)

The Paper in Language shall consist of two parts-
I- Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa.
II- Precis writing in English and Hindi

Interview/ Viva-voce (Max Marks-30; Pass Marks- 71/2)

In Interviewing a candidate, suitability for employment to the Judicial Service in the Cadre of District Judge shall be tested with reference to his record at the school, college, university and his character, personality, address and physique. The Marks so awarded shall be added to the marks obtained by each candidate in the Written Test.

Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur invites the applications from the Advocates for filling the posts in the cadre of District Judge by direct recruitment in the Rajasthan Judicial Service, in accordance with the provisions of Rajasthan Judicial Service Rules, 2010 (as amended in 2011).

Name of Post: Cadre of District Judge in Rajasthan Judicial Service
Number of Posts: 39 (Gen-21, SC-06, ST-04, OBC-08)
Pay Scale: Rs. 51550- 63070

Age Limit: 35- 45 years (On 01.01.2012). Relaxation in age as per rules for reserved categories.
Minimum Qualification: Must have been an Advocate for a period of not less than seven years on the last date fixed for receipt pf application ie 17.08.2011.

Examination Fee: SC/ ST- 100/-, Disabled Persons- 100/-, OBC- 250/-, General- 500/-

Form of Application: Application shall be made in the form prescribed by the Court, which can be had alongwith instructions from the office of the Registrar General, Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur / Jaipur on payment of sum of Rs. 100. Application Forms are also available at the offices of all Principal District Judges in Rajasthan.
